@netapp-jsnyder Hey, today Doug and I talked about this issue. Somehow the controller topic, "Complete system restoration" had license and serial number content removed when Vino was rebranded, and therefore Gizo. The license and SSN content is in the AFF A900 topic.

I can copy/replace the 2 correct general include files from the A900 topic (files: install_licenses_mcc and check_lifs_register_serial_number) into all of the Vino and Gizo "Complete system restoration" topics (for AFF A-Series and C-Series and FAS and ASAr2*) and rework the topic leads.

*However, one of the include files, "install_licenses_mcc" has a bullet about MCC, so would not apply to ASAr2. I need to create a new general include file and remove the MCC bullet. I'd call the file "install_licences_non_mcc". Note there is a general include file, "install_licenses", but it's old, e.g., mentioned a very old ONTAP release. I believe this is used for older system docs.

Can I go ahead and create the new general include file? I have a hotfix open.

@netapp-jsnyder This is the new lead being used in the Gizo A20-30-50 and c30-60 topic shell: controller_replace_restore_system_rma.doc

Things to note:

• Below is the lead for the C30-60 topic. The A20-30-50 topic has the correct system mode.
• It reads very long. I'm wondering if it might read better having the last part at the beginning, see below under "possible rewording".

Restore the NetApp Storage Encryption configuration (if necessary), install licenses for the replacement controller, verify that the logical interfaces (LIFs) are reporting to their home port, perform a cluster health check, register the replacement controller's serial number, and then return the failed part to NetApp to complete the final step in the AFF C30 and C60 controller replacement procedure.

Possible rewording:
To complete the final step in the AFF C30 and C60 controller replacement procedure, restore the NetApp Storage Encryption configuration (if necessary), install licenses for the replacement controller, verify that the logical interfaces (LIFs) are reporting to their home port, perform a cluster health check, register the replacement controller's serial number, and then return the failed part to NetApp.
