Search torrents on rutor.info, download and auto-copy them to a USB flash drive — splitting large files for FAT32 along the way.
A cross-platform desktop app in PyQt5 (Linux, Windows, macOS). Downloads via libtorrent-rasterbar, scrapes rutor.info over HTTP, stores movies on your flash drive — no more "plug in the stick, open a torrent client, wait, copy manually" dance.
Linux is the primary, fully-tested target. Windows is supported (CI builds a signed
.exe); macOS is experimental and needs signing/notarization to pass Gatekeeper. See docs/cross-platform.md.

Linux — a single self-contained binary:

./TorFlashIt bundles Python, PyQt5, libtorrent and requests; only system libraries are required: Qt5, glibc, OpenSSL.
Windows — download TorFlash.exe from the release and run it. The signed .exe needs the VC++ 2015–2022 redistributable (most systems already have it). USB auto-detect, FAT32 format and safe eject use Win32 directly — no extra tools.
macOS (experimental) — download TorFlash-macos.app.zip, unzip and move TorFlash.app to /Applications. Builds are currently unsigned, so Gatekeeper blocks them: right-click → Open the first time, or xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine TorFlash.app. See docs/cross-platform.md.
Every asset ships a .sha256 and a minisign .minisig; the in-app updater verifies them automatically, and you can check by hand — see the release notes.
You'll need Python 3.11+ and libtorrent with Python bindings.

- UDP trackers and DHT bootstrap may be blocked → the app only uses HTTPS/HTTP trackers
- Metadata is taken directly from rutor's
.torrentfile (no DHT roundtrip needed) - uTP between peers stays enabled — that's TCP-fallback BitTorrent over UDP and usually traverses NATs even when raw UDP is filtered
- Type a query → Enter
- Pick a result in the list (details show on the right)
- Double-click or press "Download → flash"
- Progress: blue = downloading, green = copying
- Done — press ⏏ to safely eject
Uncheck "Mirror to flash" and everything just lands in ~/Storage.

When running the bundled binary, logs are written to ~/.local/share/TorFlash/torflash.log.
